As a Maid of Honor for my best friend's wedding, I have came to realize that there are many duties a Maid of Honor (MOH) and a Bridesmaid have. A MOH or Bridesmaid must help the bride in any way they can.
Carley, Editor in Chief of theknot.com suggests to be there at all times for your bride. Through thick and thin, every good bridesmaid or MOH must support the bride.
Everyday, there are new ideas for themes, colors, locations, favors, ect. for a wedding. By keeping up with the latest ideas, I will provide tips for any bridesmaid or maid of honor. As every person in a bridal party (BP)should know, there are a few things they should keep up with and be prepared for.
As theknot.com states, the bridal shower and the bachelorette party are the two events the BP hold. Therefore, those events must fulfill all the expectations of the bride. In many cases, both events are surprises to the bride. It is a lot more fun when the bride is unaware that she is being taken to a party!

have to admit, i don't know much about this topic, but i remember when my wife and i were married, how important the moh was in scheduling everything. the moh involved me in the surprise aspect of the bridal shower and such. so, it is now understood how big of a role that is.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the MOH is getting a raw deal lol. Like she does the majority of the work with no man at the end. I didn't have any idea that their duties stretched that far.
ReplyDeleteAshley is my MOH and my wedding is her inspiration for this blog. I have a total of three of MOH's and Ashley has been the best one. Whether I need an opinion or need her to go shopping or on a vendor appointment she is there for me. I couldn't ask for a better MOH, and a better best friend.
ReplyDeleteLove you AEN!!
Sounds like the Maid Of Honor isn't nothing more than a slave and an assistant to the Bride. LOL
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through miavitabella. And I just laughed with this post cuz I was the MOH at my friend's wedding a couple years ago, and this brought back some good AND bad memories. It's great doing wonderful things for your bride, but be prepared from some bumps in the road, and keep your other MOHs and bridesmaids involved so you don't get overwhelmed! I look forward to seeing what happens next!
